Your Benefits at a Glance
Post-9/11 GI Bill
Covers in-state tuition and fees in full at public schools (at the 100% level), up to $30,908.34/year at private schools, plus a housing allowance and book stipend. Can be transferred to a spouse or child if the service member qualifies.
Free CLEP Exams
DANTES funds the first attempt at each CLEP exam for eligible service members. Each passed exam can earn 3-12 college credits.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Participating private schools and the VA split costs above the GI Bill cap, making expensive schools affordable.
Military Tuition Assistance
Active duty can use TA ($250/credit hour, up to $4,500/year) while serving, preserving GI Bill for after separation.
